SPAC at the 2023 European Researchers' Night

SPAC was present at the European Researchers' Night for the first time, with an exhibition at the Champalimaud Foundation.

The European Researchers' Night is a public, open-access event that takes place every year and aims to bring researchers closer to the general public through various activities such as exhibitions, talks with researchers, and interactive activities. This year it took place in 26 countries on September 29th. SPAC was present at the European Researchers' Night for the first time, with an exhibition at the Champalimaud Foundation. In this interactive exhibition, entitled "How to navigate in a world of (mis)information?", we invited adults and children (aged between 12 and 18) to test their skills in identifying fake news and to explore what factors can influence the results they get from search engines. Over the course of almost 10 hours, around 340 people (including 160 children) took part in our exhibition, getting to know our work and learning more about their abilities to identify fake news and what factors can influence search engine results.

We hope to see you there next year!
