On November 12, 2024, researchers from SPAC participated in the 17th European Public Health Conference, presenting their latest work through poster sessions. Lília Perfeito presented her poster “The Effects of Weather and Mobility on Respiratory Viruses Before and During the COVID-19 Pandemic”, examining how environmental and behavioral factors influenced virus transmission. Tiago Miranda presented the poster “Inferring Diagnoses from Prescription Data: A Machine-Learning Approach”, showcasing a novel method to extract medical insights from prescription records. The conference provided an excellent opportunity for SPAC researchers to share their findings with the international public health community and engage in discussions on the latest developments in health data analysis and epidemiology.
